My name is Teresa. I am a sewist, stitcher and seamstress. My specialties are alterations, tailoring and repurposing clothes for women, men and children. I also provide home decorating services such as pillows, valances, window seat cushions and table runners.
I know exactly how to make your clothes flatter your body and be appropriate for the event. I can help you save that special dress you love, lucky shirt or favorite pair of jeans or update their design and even repurpose a garment into something new.

These are just some of the services offered at Teresa's Custom Sewing. Located in Mesa, AZ, this company is renowned for its excellent work. When it comes to custom sewing, there’s no better choice.
Teresa started sewing for her family when the kids were small and then went to work full time in the corporate world. When her daughter couldn’t find a senior prom dress to her liking she commandeered mom to help. This sparked Teresa’s renewed interest in sewing. After 20 years in the corporate world, she left to start Teresa’s Custom Sewing.
Training started at New York Fashion Academy in Seattle, WA and after moving to AZ in 2000, took classes from several local community colleges in the Phoenix area. Teresa still likes the variety of sewing projects that her customers bring in but alterations and tailoring are the main focuses for her business. She also enjoys working on custom garments and some home dec projects when the opportunity arises.
Teresa is a past member of the Association of Sewing and Design Professionals (ASDP) a national trade organization. She has been on the Board at the national level as well as President and Chapter Rep for the Arizona chapter. She has had the privilege of being a judge for the Make It With Wool competition at both the national and state level.
